Volunteers are essential to NSAC. We offer comprehensive training on the issues and effects of sexual violence, human trafficking, crisis intervention and more. We do ask for a one-year commitment for any prospective volunteers.
What would I do?
We have a variety of volunteer responsibilities you may choose from that are integral to the running of NSAC. These include:
Answering our “talk and text” anti-human trafficking line
Assist at public education presentations and information fairs to raise awareness of sexual violence
Work as part of our fundraising committee and participate at various awareness campaigns and fundraising events
Help with office administration tasks such as reception, data entry, filing, and organizing
Bingo Volunteer– help run a charity bingo session at the Delta Bingo in Niagara Falls. This is a 3-hour commitment on Saturday afternoons.
Assist with public relations and social media efforts
What are the qualifications and requirements to volunteer?
Must be 18 years of age +
Ability to work in a confidential, non-judgmental environment
Minimum one year commitment
Maintain strict confidentiality
Reliable and responsible
All volunteers of must complete comprehensive volunteer training. This is an in person 6-week course that prepares individuals to respond, support, and provide information and referrals to those who access services at NSAC. The training focuses on the issues and effects of sexual violence, human trafficking, crisis intervention and more. It is expected that all applicants who attend the training do not miss more than one session of the training. We do ask for a one-year commitment for any prospective volunteers.
